A diesel machine in this class gives you more torque and far longer run time than the gasoline equivalents, which matters once you are digging all day rather than for an afternoon. Suited to footings, trenching, drainage, stump work and small-site grading, and at 43 in. wide it still goes through a standard gate.

Fixed-width undercarriage. This machine does not have expanding tracks — the track width is fixed at the 43 in. overall width. That is what keeps it gate-friendly, but it does mean you cannot widen the stance for extra stability on a slope, so plan your approach on steep ground.
